McCarthyism


McCarthyism refers to Joseph McCarthy, a U.S. Senator who proclaimed that high treason was present in our federal government in the 1950's.  His accusations consisted of there being communist sympathies by post-war Americans.  Blacklisting was started in Hollywood which resulted in people's reputations and careers being ruined.

This intro is o.k. as a general intro to the topic, but it lacks a preview of the other pages, and as an intro to the topic it could use more detail.

It might me a good idea to include a photo of McCarthy himself here, since the "ism" does revolve around him and his actions during this era.
